Right now, the current generation that populate the midlife years are those of Generation X, born between the mid-1960s to the early 1980s.

Our generation currently holds, if not urged to step up and eventually assume, the bigger responsibilities in our society: To our children, to our aging parents, our career, our communities. Now is our Time, so to speak, to come to center stage.
As it is, we're loaded with enough to care about and at times it can really be overwhelming. Any more pressure can quickly put us over the edge.
As we then inevitably factor in our aging and/or vitality, mortality, our personal and social instabilities and insecurities, it wouldn't be too hard to imagine why we could experience something of a "midlife crisis".
Perhaps nothing more aptly represents the Spirit of our Time (our zeitgeist) than with the Midlife Crisis...
While it may be just a phase we naturally go through and eventually survive as adults, a deeper look into the phenomenon has revealed to us that it has farther-reaching implications than anyone would normally notice.
Art of Dreaming (AOD) Philippines, being shamanic with our ways, sees into the heart of things to establish an effective healing path for the most pressing issues of our Time. When we examined further how midlife stressors that may develop into a crisis affected more people and therefore were more prevalent, the need for a better way of understanding the phenomenon in order to see its function and address it completely became more obvious. We realized that placing this particular attention on mid-life and its complexities illuminates a path of healing for all of humanity, with Gen Xers currently holding important keys to potentially ending all that have held us back from evolving into our best.
Gen Xers would be the perfect focal point of this endeavor, showing up with just about the right mix of unique history and experience, of wisdom and insecurities, wounds and laurels, patience and pounce.
A Midlife "Awakening"
Without a doubt, part of what makes the midlife crisis an intense experience is that we are compelled to go into states of deeper self-reflection especially when we are negatively affected by events. This is one of the key elements that AOD is emphasizing on with the Midlife Program because regardless of anyone's status, times of contemplation allows us to connect deeply to what matters. So, especially if one is showing up as successful in life, meaningful self-reflection is quite simply, a must, so that we can see not just what's beyond, but also if what we have is not the false kind of success (such as one that only masks a past unresolved issue or one that does not represent the highest good).
The Program for De-Programming
Judging by the way things have been going where our environment has deteriorated alarmingly against our favor, we are being driven to extinction. Our good hasn't been Nature's good, Hers isn't ours—A clear disconnection and a relationship that's out of balance where humans are definitely on the losing end. The crisis in midlife is a symptom of this goings-on for longer than we care to admit. The compounding inheritance we got from our ancestors which has now gone for thousands of years —with their imbalanced explorations and tendencies —a lot of which we've dismissed as simply "natural" or "just the way things are" doesn't help either.
So yes, we have not been very successful collectively as a species in spite of the glitters like today's leaps in technology, nor do our personal and tribal wins matter for they are founded atop the ashes of a dying world. Our vision has been shortsighted, as has our energy, which then manifests as the declining vitality (or endangered health) we fear most upon reaching mid- to senior-age. We have lost touch of our active and timeless capacities as essentially magical beings of Creation.
Part of the Program is a shedding of these very old structures we have erected and assumed as "who we are" ("who I am") so we can finally have the space (and energy/power) for something as easy as "affecting the Whole of Creation" "just by our own actions alone" "in an instant!" Because that's what magical beings of Creation simply do, to do magical and creative things! A single, courageous act that echoes across all of Time (past, present, future) and dimensions (outside of Time) is indeed something that Nature loves and supports.
Showing Up
Whatever correction that's needed starts with the individual (a self-correction), wherever you may be standing, becomes an example for others to see and learn from. Hit or miss. For as long as we, first, show up.
Put in this way: Our Time (as Gen Xers) actually means it's Everyone's Time. Because by the end of the Midlife Program (or "Deprogram"), it would be nuclear to witness the participants become living embodiments of the invitation to everyone to the noble task of becoming present for the Healing of All, of finally setting up a Natural and Stable Living System aligned with the Planet's Wisdom--Gaia, Pachamama-- As they transform their challenges into these golden opportunities for all to benefit from including our children's children and beyond. Gen Xers would be the perfect focal point of this endeavor, showing up with just about the right mix of unique history and experience, of wisdom and insecurities, wounds and laurels, patience and pounce.
Perhaps nothing more aptly represents the Spirit of our Time (our zeitgeist) than with the Midlife Crisis, a Crisis which we can avert and transmute as soon as we start to accept its reality and take the meaningful next steps.
The Program is set to start soon with Beta, for FREE, with 6 weekly sessions.
